Does the Kip McGrath franchise model work?
Yes! After more than 30 years of successful operation in 680 centres and experience in 20 other cuontries we can say with absolute conviction that the teaching methods and our business model works. Our franchisees achieve success both personally and financially.
Will I get help?
Absolutely! While you will be in business on your own, you will never be alone, that's the benefit of being part of a franchise, others have walekd this path ahead of you and we wil be there to share the learning as you follow the same steps in your area.
Where did the business originate and who is Kip McGrath?
This is a great Australian success story as Kip and his wife Dug were both teaching in NSW when they founded the company in 1974. Kip was a school principal and having opened a centre in Metford NSW and experiencing terrific success they responded to the requests of others to show them what they were doing. By establishing a franchise model they provided good teachers with a chance to own and operate their own business without the risks associated with starting up alone. From Newcastle in NSW the company has spread across the globe to countries such as NZ, Singapore, Suth Africa, the UK and many more.
How much will I have to invest to get started in a Kip McGrath franchise?
For a new centre and depending on the location and size of the franchise territory the initial investment, including estimated setup costs, is between $35,000 and $53,000. This figure will be the total amount you need to get started and includes training, all equipment and furniture, telephone connection and initial rent. If purchasing a new centre you will also receive additional marketing materials.
Who selects the location of my centre?
As part of our training we teach you all you need to know to select a suitable site in your area.
What is the ideal size for a centre?
40 sqm
What centre design assistance do I receive?
You will receive a fitout pack, which sets out hwo to decorate your centre. In addition, we provide a furniture pack that includes much of the material to make your centre look like a Kip McGrath Education Centre. We are proud of our new Gen2 fit out and you will be proud to operate one as well.
Can I own more than one centre?
Yes, but we recommend you being with one centre.
What experience do I need to operate a Kip McGrath Education Centre?
You will need formal teaching qualifications and experience. If you are a great teacher you already have what it takes. We have systems and manuals for everything else and we know that we can teach you the rest - that's why you invest in a successful franchise.
Does Kip McGrath require franchisees to be actively involved in operating the centre?
Yes. We do not sell to investors. You must be actively involved in advertising, assessing and teaching children.
Am I able to employ non teachers or students to teach with me?
No. One of our key points of difference is the fact that we allow only qualified teachers to take students for lessons and this gives parents a great deal of confidence in us. In fact, we are the largest teacher run tutoring company in the world.
